Be a Smart Mommy, Reduce Waste, Save Money and Create Your Own Baby Food
Buying a pouch of pre-made baby food is not only a waste of money, it also aids in the production of waste that would eventually fill our dumps sites. Additionally, mommies are also not sure if the contents of these packaged baby foods are all natural.
Why not be a smart mommy, help reduce waste and save money? Think of how much cash you can save if you create your own baby food with the use of natural food items and your blender!
Creating your own baby food is not only cheap and easy, you are also helping cut back on packaging waste.
By simply tossing in your favorite fruits and vegetables into a blender, you can create freshly pureed baby food that your baby can eat right away. To save preparation time, you can also opt to create bigger batches and then use lidded ice cube trays to store the food in the freezer. Using a microwave, you can thaw each cube as needed.
Organic produce is always recommended when creating baby foods. Here are a few fruits and veggies that you can puree for your baby food:
Strawberry Puree
Use 1 cup of fresh strawberries
Peach and Banana Puree
2 peaches, 1 banana and 1/3 cup unsweetened apple juice
Carrot & Sweet Potato Puree
½ cup boiled carrots, ½ cup boiled sweet potato and ½ cup unsweetened apple juice
Green Apple and Spinach Puree
1 green apple, ½ cup baby spinach and ½ cup unsweetened apple juice
You can also combine other food items to create a tastier food experience for your baby.
