Don’t you just love how the social media world can bring you different kinds of news from all over the world? Yes, there are depressing news about the war in the middle east, gruesome political clashes, earthly tragedies or terrorist attacks. But, there are also news that lift the heart and make someone’s day a lot brighter.
Take for example this furry four-legged Seattle commuter who just amazes and brings jot to people.
Eclipse is a cross breed between a black Labrador and a Mastiff. Take those two large breeds into account and be convinced that she’s not a small dog you can carry in a bag. Her intellect is probably just as impressive – probably more so.
Believe it or not, she rides the bus through four stops and gets off at the park. Doesn’t sound all that impressive, right? Well, she takes a bus on her own. She knows which bus number to take and where to get off.
It started when her owner was on a smoke break near the bus stop and apparently he was taking so long because Eclipse left him and got on the bus! He later found her at the park. Her owner, Jeff Young, realized his dog is incredibly smart and can ride through those stops on her own.
And, no, she’s not a nuisance to the public transport. Eclipse is well known among the bus drivers and the regular local commuters and they can’t get enough of her! She’s well-behaved, sits like a person would occupying one seat and is friendly to the passengers.
Seattle’s D Line allows animals to board the bus with the driver’s discretion. Naturally, Eclipse was allowed on the bus. The drivers and the commuters all look forward to seeing Eclipse everyday on her way to the dog park.
She even has a bus pass attached to her collar! Now, don’t think wrongly of her owner. Jeff is a loving and responsible owner who let’s Eclipse be her own independent self. Nothing wrong with encouraging a bit of responsibility even if it’s on a four-legged furry creature!
You are such a cutie Eclipse! How I wish I’d see you on my daily commute as well!
