Homemade Facial Scrub
A couple of girlfriends and myself got together to give each other a homemade facial scrub. I have to say there is something so wonderful and powerful when women get together to support, nurture and pamper each other.
We try to do this as often as we can, picking a different home spa treatment or activity each time. In this case, we played with a homemade facial scrub, another time we slathered avocado on our skin with these avocado beauty recipes.
We all agreed that we liked this facial scrub. Some of the homemade recipes we have tried in the past did not come out so good, some even smelled horrible! This one is a winner however and our skin felt great afterwards.
The pumpkins natural enzymes, lemon and sugar get rid of the dead skin cells while the caffeine in the coffee assists in tightening the skin. Almond oil lightly moisturizes the skin so as to make sure it is not stripped away without being replenished.
You don’t have to limit this exfoliant just to your face either. Your body or even your feet and hands will love you for this one too!
This recipe makes quite a bit – it was enough for all 3 of us so if you are making it just for yourself cut down the measurements.
Ingredients –
1/4 cup canned pumpkin
1/4 cup brown sugar – we used organic but any kind will work.
1 Tbsp coarse ground coffee – Don’t use decaf it is the caffeine that tightens your skin.
1 Tbsp almond oil (substitute olive oil or jojoba oil)
1/2 lemon, squeezed juice
