These Flowers Preserved in Light Bulbs Are the Perfect Dainty Home Decor
Art is innovative and creative in nature. It transforms itself over time and what used to be the norm in the past takes an evolution along with periods to be something new. What wasn’t considered art before is considered art now.
For instance, cooking became an art. In the past, sculpting, painting and music were the only forms of art that was widely appreciated. Now, even designing the interior of a house and every little detail to make a room the way it is is considered modern art.
Making furniture, light fixtures and room decor are also a form of modern art now.
Here’s one that you probably have not seen. Flower light bulbs.

Japan is home of many technological innovations and art. They’re the first ones to make an interactive robot. The bullet train is also their doing. Well, that’s not all that’s happening there.
Meet Rie Okitsu. She is a flower artist and a researcher who created a way for flowers to be preserved beautifully and be enjoyed in full bloom for a very long time.
Flowerium, Okitsu’s company, preserves full bloom flower petals in a special liquid and encased in an Edison style light bulb.
They have dozens of variation and if you look through their gallery, it would seem like it’s impossible not to find a combination that’s almost personalized for your taste.
You can choose from hundreds of different flowers like cherry blossoms (which is Japan’s national flower), lavender, baby’s breath, peonies and more.
According to their website, no light bulb has exactly the same contents as the another because everything is made by hand one by one.
Unfortunately, if you want to grab some of these to bring fresher life to your place but you’re not in Japan, you can’t get these yet. They’re still on the process of creating their web store but they have physical shops. If you know someone in Japan coming your way, this would be a great present to ask for! 😉
