So, we’ve done a post about bohemian wedding cakes and they are as dreamy as you can imagine. One thing that I really like about the entire boho chic style, aside from the patterns and the deep rich colors, is the dream catcher.
I love dream catchers. I love the colorful feathers and beads hanging down from the woven catcher in the middle.
Dream catchers are a native american creation which is a handmade willow hoop to look like a net. Legends say dream catchers stop bad dreams from passing through which is why it’s usually hung above the head of the bed or cradle.
Nowadays, dream catchers are more of aesthetics and we love it! Check out these dream catcher cakes!
On the Edge
I love the contrast of circles and the sharp edges of the base cake. This isn’t really your typical elegantly made wedding cake but this is perfect for someone like me who’s not at all on the girly side!
According to the creator of this cake, this is inspired by the Disney princess, Pocahontas. The color scheme clearly shows that and this will be one of the favorites on this dream catcher cakes list for sure!
Don’t you just love how the feathers are carved on the cake one by one? And also how the dream catchers look antique on the top layer! Dreamy, indeed!
White and Pink
Now, this is perfect for a very feminine bride. This could even pass as a baby shower cake! Although I hate pink, this is truly a sight to look at!
Catcher by the Beach
This, for me, is one of dream catcher cakes finest. I love the color and the simple touch of flowers. The middle tier of black and white surprisingly gave this piece a fine finish.
Oh my gosh. The pop of pink is awesome! I know I said I don’t like pink but it’s a nice contrast to the overwhelming white and gold! Two thumbs up for me!
Here’s one that will also surely be a favorite because of it’s simplicity and elegance. The white and gold color is such a go to combination and it still totally works!
Laces on Cakes
Is that actual dream catcher lace on the cake? Or is it fondant that’s so skillfully cut out? Either way, I am amazed. The soft purple color is totally working for me as well!
These dream catcher cakes are gorgeous, right? It’s not only wedding cakes but there are tons of dream catcher inspired ones for birthdays and showers, too.
