6 Simple Fun Yet Chill Things You Can Do On A Long Weekend

Many of us would holler and shout ‘hooray!’ for a long weekend ahead. Some of us are wondering how we’re going to use the next 72 hours productively.

There are some who might just opt to drab it up and be a couch potato, order pizza and binge watch on their favorite TV series. Some might plan a grand get-away somewhere out of town or party the nights away.

For an introvert like me, I would probably curl up in my pajamas and read through stacks of my favorite novels. Does that sound sad?

Anyway, here are a few things you can do on a long weekend that are chill and fun at the same time. I might even give these a try!

For the Extroverts

Go Camping with Friends

S’mores, campfire songs, scary stories and a few cold beers – sounds like an ideal get together with friends away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Plan a camping trip for the long weekend to come with your best pals!

Have a Dinner Party

Source

Gather some of your closest friends and your family for a lovely evening out in your garden or a friend’s back yard. The long weekend will give you enough time to really prepare a nice meal along with pleasant chatter over wine. It’s great way to reconnect.

Visit Family

If you live away from your parents, chances are you rarely get to see them. Visit them on a long weekend and just reconnect. A trip home will be refreshing and it will make them happy as well.

For the Introverts

Book a Spa Session

Source

Sometimes, you just got to take time and treat yourself to a relaxing day at the spa. It would be nice if you can go with someone – your sister or your mom – and just relax while getting massages, body scrubs or other treatments. It will be a perfect use of one day out of your long weekend!

See a Play

Source

Try something new if you haven’t seen a play before. It’s a good way to switch from the grip of TV and experience an artistic work of culture and history. Search for a nearby or accessible theater with good reviews so your first time will be something to remember.

Do Some Cooking

Source

Cooking has been proven to be a great stress reliever. Not unless you really have not talent in the kitchen no matter how you try. If so, go to a cooking class over the long weekend. It’s a great way to learn something new and the results will give you a confidence boost!

Those are pretty simple ideas, right? I might try to put my books down, do some cooking and invite some family and friends over for a little bit of reconnecting!
