This is such an easy, great, all natural homemade body scrub recipe. It smells divine and makes your skin feel like silk. I have a sneaking feeling that this will be the first in many I will make.
Body scrubs are simple to make and there are many choices of what you can use. In this recipe I use brown sugar and a vanilla musk all natural body oil. Yummy. But there are many others in which salt is used, or raw sugar and of course you can use any scent you would like, you gotta love that.
More and More I am enjoying the use of all natural products and love that I can make my own. This is a great recipe to try first if you are just dabbling into making your own body products. Especially if you do not have a lot of fancy kitchen gadgets, because you don’t need any for this one.
Vanilla Musk Brown Sugar Body Scrub Recipe
1 1/4 cups of brown or raw sugar
6-8 tablespoons of coconut oil
15-20 drops of favorite vanilla musk oil, vanilla essential oil or oil of choice (preferably all natural)
Supplies Needed :
I used an amber colored jar. The reason for this is because the scrub is all natural and contains no preservatives protecting it from light is a good idea. However, this is not required and more than likely you will use it all up before too much time has passed, such as six months or more.
First let the coconut oil soften, you can heat it up slightly to make it softer or let it naturally sit out if it is warm enough. In a mixing bowl add your brown sugar and coconut oil. Mix it up really well so there are no lumps, begin to add your oil, I suggest adding a few drops mixing it and then adding more if desired. This lets you control how strong the scent is, some people may find that 15-20 drops is too much. Straight essential oils are pretty strong in scent and a little goes a long way. I used a perfume oil so it wasn’t as potent.
Once you have it mixed well and with the right amount of oil put it into your glass jar and viola! Enjoy it in the bath or shower. Works great for smoothing the skin and you will smell heavenly too. Best to apply on wet skin and rub in circular motion.
